Carrying Water Instead of Textbooks

Meet Kesha. The bucket on her head is filled with water that she walks ten minutes to get for family. Her family has to walk to get all water for bathing, cooking, cleaning as well as for their toilet. Most of the kids in the village she lives in do not go to school because of the water problem. Lack of bathing, no clean uniforms, and a need to carry water to their house all create problems. I am embarrassed I can get something off of Amazon delivered easier than she can get a gallon of water. So humbling! #missionaryatheart www.dominicankids.com/donate-now/

Our Friday

Happy Friday from #missionaryatheart! Look at all of these kiddos! They are lined up and ready to get their daily meal at our mission house! They have spent the day playing, having bible study, being in a safe atmosphere, and feeling loved! After they eat they will be able to bathe, get fresh clothes, and then our van will take them back to where they live. We are so thankful for this long line of kiddos and EVERY single one of our sponsors who make this picture possible! www.dominicankids.com/donate-now/

3 Year Old with Syphilis

This precious 3 year old was born with Syphilis. Her mom cannot afford the medicines she needs to treat it. Here in the States we often take for granted the easy access we have to reputable doctors and medication. Many of the people we help in the Dominican are afraid to go to the doctor because so many people die in the hospital from lack of resources. Untreated, this sweet girl is headed for a disaster. This sweet face is just one of the MANY we help every single day. However without our monthly sponsors, we cannot help anyone. Do you want to help this angel and many just like her?? Take the leap and partner with us today! We can’t do it without you! #missionaryatheart

Bacterial Infection and No Medicine

This little girl is one of many we see everyday in the extremely poor villages we visit. She has a bacterial infection spreading all over her face and her family cannot afford to take her to the doctor much less get the necessary medicine. In this particular case the parents did not even realize how serious the infection was until we stopped to check on her. The lack of education and resources is a huge issue we face in the Dominican Republic. Help us assist and reach more kids just like this sweet baby by partnering with us! We truly cannot do it without you! #missionaryatheart
