Conditions in Haiti

Haitian children are eating mud because they have no money for food. The situation in Haiti right now is so desperate and bleak that parents are giving their children mud cookies to eat because they cannot afford food. Currently gangs control most of Haiti which is connected to the Dominican Republic. The gangs control the country and the police and government are either afraid of the gangs or paid by the gangs. They control food, fuel and water in the country and are preventing access unless the family can pay a premium. There is no work because of the gangs and families are living without hope. I visited there in 2012 right after the earthquake and it was bleak and barren. I cannot imagine the lack of hope these families must be living with every day. Many of our Haitian friends in the DR are being deported back to Haiti thus leaving their children alone and without care. Please join me in praying that the people of Haiti can see hope and that they find the resilience to survive what is becoming a country that has been forgotten.
